Shakespeare Wallah

After watching the movie entitled Shakespeare Wallah, although the movie is quiet boring but what actually caught my attention is the message of the movie. The movie comes about the challenges that a Shakespearean play faced during the post colonial era. Basically, the people beginning to feel that the plays are boring and uninteresting as well due to the poor quality stage setting and costumes. In Fact, the up rising motion pictures industries also contributed to the down fall of the Shakespearean theatre and in this movie the people prefer to watch the Bollywood motion picture rather than a Shakespearean life performance. Eventually this is also happening in our society nowadays without us realizing it. The teenagers today prefer to watch movies in cinema instead of viewing a play. Don’t believe me? Question yourself, how many times have you watch a play and how many times have you watch a movie?

Dear Lee,
i agree that the movie was quite boring and actually i did not really captured the main idea of the movie. i just put my concentration on the act of various plays in the movie. i thought that is the purpose of dr.edwin wants us to watch the movie as Shakespeare Wallah is not a play.
yes i do agree that nowadays people prefer watching movie compared to watch a play. but i would say that i enjoy play more than movie because of the life-acting and performance. it could be dynamic, it is alterable depend on the who plays the character as every people are different. i definitely can watch a same play twice, but not a movie. :)
