A Streetcar Named Desire

Tennessee William’s A Streetcar Named Desire is an example of a modern tragic hero and with the viewing of the movie it gives me a better understanding of the setting in which the play comes about. From the movie I can easily visualize the environment in New Orleans. Besides that through the movie, the as audience rather then a reader we get to see the actors acting out the event and it helps us comprehend the play better. Lastly I would say that the movie is rather helpful as the lines spoke by the actors are exactly the same as the text that we had and the movie follow very closely the stage direction, setting, and very little alteration are made.

i have to agree with lee that watching the play Streetcar named desire did help enhance our understanding on the play. the actions and scenes did give a better perspective on the theme, setting and characteristics of all the different characters especially Blanche and Stanley.
Besides that the dialogues were not adjusted, making it easier for us to remeber the lines.

I agree with you that after I watch the movie, It really give me a more clear picture of the play. Besides enchance our understanding, I can know what is really happening in the play. After reading the play, we only can use our imagination to think of all those setting, how the characters look like and how is the plot goes on. But after watching it, it really spices up my life. It make me see it in reality. People acting in it. I think the movie really help us a lot.

After I watched the movie of "Streetcar Named Desire", same as you, I know more about this play. I can see the setting of the play more closely. I know how New Orleans looks like, I know the customs of the people during that time. If I got a chance to watch the real play, and I have the money to afford it, I would go and watch it (hehe).
